Question: Usually when I see you on stage, you're wearing clothes that are a little different than the norm. Do you buy your stuff off the rack or do you have it made? Answer: What typically happens is, I see something I like to wear and have it made for the stage. This usually means using a lighter material so I don't sweat as much. Then I have certain types of gussets put in (that's an extra patch of material sown in under the arms or the seat area), this allows me to do dance moves without my clothes distorting while I'm performing. Stage clothes have to be light and flexible to be useful to me Question: Did you ever have a death threat on your life? Answer: Oh yeah, many times and it's always someone who is mentally disturbed in some way to begin with. I remember one time in particular there was someone who was threatening to whack me at a certain concert. The police were involved and we had to go through drills on what would happen if shots were fired and all sorts of things like that. Quite the distraction for an artist in concert. But I remember something I heard from another preacher who went through similar situations. He said, Nothing can enter my life unless it first passes through the will of God. This helped…until we left town…at 90 mph. |
